An important component of Content Preparation that doesn't get a lot of attention is the mechanism that allows you to browse NetStorage through your Luna portal access. This is accomplished using the File Manager tool in Luna, and if you don't have it configured to work with your Luna account, you will find a list of NetStorage CPCodes that all appear to be empty with no folders or files.
Enabling File Manager for Users in NetStorage
The first thing you need to do is to ensure that you have NetStorage users with FileManager access enabled. This is handled in the NetStorage configuration part of Luna.
Choose the NetStorage group you want to have appear within Transcoding and click "View Details" from the action menu.
Next, find the user you want to enable as the access point to NetStorage and click "Edit" from the action menu.
Finally, choose to "Enable File Manager Access" for that particular user toward the bottom of their permissions.
Associating Your Luna Login to a NetStorage User
Once you've enabled a NetStorage user with File Manager access, you'll need to associate your Luna login to that NetStorage user for File Manager to work. To do that, you'll need to head over to "File Manager" under the PUBLISH menu option.
Click on the "Setup FileManager Access" link with the gear icon.
It might take a moment to load, but a list of all Luna logins for your account will appear. You can either scroll to find your login address, or it might be easier to use the browser's native "Find" tool. Either way you get to it, click on your login name (not the checkbox!) to see a list of NetStorage groups that currently have File Manager enabled users ready to be used.
Find the NetStorage group you want to browse in Transcoding and choose the appropriate NetStorage user from the drop down menu. Clicking Update will make it live.
