The reason why Akamai, a CDN company, provides security solutions
February 25, 2015
The word, IoT has become a hot topic in the IT industry and the advent of smartphone became a big opportunity to expand products and services to actualize the IoT. As this expansion is expected to continue further in the future, security has become an issue along with it.
Against this issue, there is a movement to provide security solutions and Akamai is one of the companies. Akamai is well-known for the content delivery platform, but it also provides security services.
Akamai provides three security products, “Kona Site Defender”, “Prolexic Routed” and “DNS Platform” with three advantages of speed, off-road and perimeter protection for users.
Akamai does not mount the security features directly onto a device itself and Akamai focuses on a “controller” to prevent a malicious attack like DDoS attack and to strengthen the security by Akamai technology.

Cloud Solutions are Raining on Indian Enterprises
March 4, 2015
As BYOD becomes increasingly important on every CIO’s list, the role of cloud also becomes more important to make BYOD a seamless experience. According to Sidharth Malik of Akamai Technologies, “The cloud process is likely to eliminate tedious administrative tasks, which might delay more important objectives, and will also embrace multi-platform adaptability. In this increasingly hyperconnected world, every consumer will depend on cloud services to connect and access their data through multiple devices.” He goes on to express the opinion that with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) models becoming conventional in the workplace, the enterprises are opting to assist their employees in conducting company business using their own personal devices with the help of a safe, secure and reliable cloud service.
