The discussion tool is a great way to introduce new thoughts to the community and generate conversations. Just check out all the great discussions happening in the Web Performance area!

Navigate to the group or place in the community where you would like to post

Select the 'discussion' tool from the action menu

The action menu will always be located on the right-hand side of a group's or place's banner.
NOTE: This feature may not be enabled in certain areas of the community.

Un-check the "mark this discussion as a question" box

This is always checked by default. Click here if you want to learn more about How do I ask a question?

Title your discussion and add content

Use the rich content editor to insert an image, video, or code example into a discussion.

Link to additional content via @mention or by uploading attachments.

Tag your discussion post

Choose from a selection of existing tags (which will appear as you type) or create new ones. Tags make content easily searchable.

Click post

By default, you will automatically be following your own discussion post. Anytime there is activity related to your post (i.e., comments, likes, etc.) you will be notified.
