Less power, less control?

Blog Post created by Stuart Wakeling Employee on Jun 3, 2015

In an update to my previous post, the United States Government has now voted to limit the ability to collect phone data.

Under the previous law the NSA was free to collect any information from any source whereas now they will be forced to request information through a court order and be specific to an individual, an account or a device.

The impact of storing highly sensitive data on private company infrastructure rather than on government servers will be interesting as it effectively divests responsibility and cost. Will these telecom operators be able to prevent a data breach that seems to be in the news on a daily basis?

Only time will tell.
