Please explain the difference between LCDN and MCDN with an example.
Aura MCDN utilizes dedicated hardware and delivery nodes that a network operator can control and integrate into their network. If a Carrier already runs a broadband network that connects directly to viewers, it may make sense to have a dedicated CDN service to run on top of it.
Aura LCDN (or Licensed CDN) can be utilized by network operators that want to own and operate their own CDN for live or on-demand content. It provides the added benefit of providing the operator with the ultimate control over their service and the ability to capitalize (CAPEX) their infrastructure. However, running an Aura LCDN does require operational expertise in the area of CDN, and many operators find it better to start with an Aura MCDN until they reach a critical mass of traffic to justify the expense of building and running their own CDN.
