I am new to Akamai Fast DNS trying to migrate over my TLD's. We use are own Load Balancers running GSLB. Fast DNS does not allow me to make it a CNAME. Is there another way for me to set this up?
Sorry about that after working with Akamai it was concluded that we would need to add Dynamic Site Delivery to our service to accomplish what we needed.
Thanks for your feedback
See if you can use Zone Apex Mapping
Thanks for the response. That would work but the only service we are currently using with Akamai is FastDNS. The Zone Apex Mapping is only available with their Akamai Delivery service.
what would you CNAME your TLD to if you are not using Akamai for delivering your content through the Akamai platform?
I am asking that because FastDNS is a DNS-only solution and you basically replace your current/other DNS service with FastDNS that way (with all the known benefits, etc.).
Thanks for providing me with some more details.
I would CNAME it to the www.TLD.com<http://www.tld.com> which we load balance with GSLB for redundancy purposes.
Thanks for the response.

not that I know much about this GSLB, but it sounds a bit like a SW solution, so does the server running this solution/SW have a fixed IP? If so, that would be your solution (instead of CNAME use an A-record).
For other hints I'd need to know more about this GSLB.
Hello Dave Prentice,
I have not heard from you in a while on my last statement - is this topic still open for you? Have I answered all your questions?
