How can I check if all zones were transferred to Akamai? Where?
Arkady Landes, you also can use Fast DNS - OPEN API to check-up serial of SOA record. Though we don't have specific view like Verisign's one, but you can implement your own with OPEN API.
Please refer to the API document : DNS—Zone Record Management API Resources
in fast DNS, I see few alerts, i looking for the zone with SOA serial
Hi Arkady Landes
In order to check if all akamai name servers are up to date you can query each name server and check if serial number in SOA record is the most recent.
you can do it using dig command on linux machine:
dig www.example.com @aXXX.akam.net. SOA +short
aXXX.akam.net. hostmaster.akamai.com. 1464321994 7200 900 1209600 86400
On Windows machine you can use nslookup.
- Specify name server you want to query
> server aXXX.akam.net
- Specify record type to get (SOA)
> set type=SOA
- Type hostname
You'll get output like
> www.example.comServer: aXXX.akam.netAddresses: ***.***.***.***
www.example.com primary name server = aXXX.akam.net responsible mail addr = hostmaster.akamai.com serial = 1464321994 refresh = 7200 (2 hours) retry = 900 (15 mins) expire = 1209600 (14 days) default TTL = 86400 (1 day)
Thanks , but i looking for another way . I want to see for example txt records of my domain
If zone type is Primary, you can check your zone file on Luna portal.
1. Open Configure->Fast DNS Configuration.
2. Select zone and click edit.
3. Click " Edit recordset"
There is no GUI to verify Secondary zone however.
Dear Arkady Landes,
if you visit the provisioning page for Fast DNS on LUNA, you'll find a list of active zones for your account. It should be a table with one of the columns being 'Zone Transfer Status'. This is your indicator whether the most recent zone data has been transfered/updated.
Possible status message are:
...moving to the Cloud Security space
Retrieving data ...
