I am trying to reload new seed data (5 columns) into an existing seeda data ( 4 columns). The new one has one extra column. While uploading the new seed data, it considers only first 4 columns.
If you're trying to overwrite an existing one with the same name, that isn't currently supported. You will have to name it or the previous version something different.
When you open a seed data object from the left side or from the library, there is a button to upload:
Then you have the options to do not overwrite (append) or to overwrite if that option is not checked.
I believe what you want is to leave it unchecked since what you want is to overwrite the existing one?
If I reimport the data and the existing one has 4 columns and the new one has 5 columns, then only first 4 columns are uploaded. Ideally, all the 5 columns should be uploaded.
I see what you mean.
As a workaround, do the following:
1. Open the seed data and first manually add the fifth column with the column name in the csv file. If it doesn't have a column name, then write Column 5. Then click Finish to save it. No need to manually fill out any of the rows for that column.
2. Reopen the seed data object and then try uploading the one with 5 columns, either append or override and it should work.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Will try this.
