Session Title: Managing Cookies at the Edge to Reduce Protocol Shortfalls - Presented by IBM

Speakers: Yaser Doleh and Mauro Marzorati

Abstract:

With more than 100 years of history IBM operate in 170 countries. Aa globally integrated enterprise, IBM manages a distributed infrastructure with many delivery clouds and even more applications. Given the simplistic nature of constructs for session management chosen in the early days --let the server have access to all the cookies, just in case—modern day servers are straining from the weight of these cookies. In this session we will detail the capabilities of the Akamai Intelligent Platform that IBM has leveraged to manage the pervasive problem of having too many cookies presented on its corporate portal, www.ibm.com.
