As of SOASTA 56.15,  a Maestro service setting allows you to set a maximum number of virtual users for a server, helping you prevent overloading your CloudTest main instance. The setting is listed below:

Setting Up Maximum Virtual Users

  1. Log into your CloudTest instance. On the Central tab, under Server Resources, click Server.

  2. Find the appropriate Server and open the bottom tab by clicking Settings.

  3. In the Service drop-down menu, select Maestro

  4. Under Known Settings, select Player.MaxVirtualUsers.

In the Value field, enter the maximum amount of virtual users.

  • The default is -1 and will mean no limit on virtual users.
  • A value of 0 will not allow any virtual users to test on that particular server.
  • A value of 1 will allow 1 virtual user (so on and so forth).
