SOASTA Server-to-Cloud Instance Type Map

CloudTest uses current-generation Server Instance types across the board. This article maps SOASTA Server Types to the corresponding Cloud Provider, Server Type as expressed throughout SOASTA Central, Grids, and other relevant UI.

The following section presents a type-by-type map of SOASTA Server Instances to each of our currently supported Cloud Providers.

SOASTA and Amazon EC2 Instances

CloudTest uses Hardware Virtual Machine (HVM) instead of Paravirtual (PV) across the board for Amazon Machine Images (AMI). This capplies to Grids, Results Databases, and Environments. HVM is the new generation of virtualization technology offered by Amazon. More detail about HVM technology can be found in the Amazon EC user guide's Virtualization Types article.
