Once a SOASTA Conductor has been installed on a machine, a version comparison happens whenever Conductor connects to CloudTest, and if an updated version is available an auto-upgrade begins. Auto-upgrade will download the ZIP, launch it, complete the install, and then finally launch and connect the Conductor to CloudTest.

To change Conductor settings, access the Setup screen through the OS-specific methods. For example, Windows users can right-click the running Conductor in Taskbar by right-clicking the Conductor icon and then selecting Configure... Mac OS X users can do the same via the Conductor > Preferences menu option.

If you have chosen to change settings, the process becomes like that of a normal SOASTA Conductor install once you click the Next button. Please refer to the topic, Installing SOASTA Conductor, to complete the re-install.

Importing Site Certificates for HTTPS (Firefox)

For HTTPS recording using Firefox, or WebUI test playback using a custom Firefox profile, a certificate authority certificate provided with SOASTA Conductor must be imported into the browser in order to avoid recording problems (attached to this post). This is not necessary in those cases where HTTPS recording is being used to record WebUI compositions. Use the following platform specific instructions to import certificates:

For Macintosh:

  1. In Finder, go to the SOASTA Conductor install location (typically, /Applications/SOASTA Conductor).
  2. Right-click the SOASTA Conductor.app and select Show Package Contents.
  3. Under the install folder, open the Contents/Resources/app directory.
  4. Copy the file SOASTA Conductor Certification Authority.cer to a known location.
  5. Run Firefox and then bring up Firefox/Preferences.
  6. In Firefox preferences, click Advanced and then Encryption.
  7. Click View Certificates.
  8. Click Authorities.
  9. Click Import.
  10. Import the file SOASTA Conductor Certification Authority.cer from the known location above.
  11. Click OK.

For Windows:

  1. Run Firefox and then bring up Tools > Options.
  2. Click Advanced and then Encryption.
  3. Click View Certificates.
  4. Click Authorities.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Browse to the SOASTA Conductor install directory (typically, c:/Program Files/SOASTA Conductor).
  7. Import the file SOASTA Conductor Certification Authority.cer from the install directory.
  8. Click OK.

For Linux:

  1. Run Firefox and bring up Edit/Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced and then Encryption.
  3. Click View Certificates.
  4. Click Authorities.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Browse to the SOASTA Conductor install directory.
  7. Import the file SOASTA Conductor Certification Authority.cer from the install directory.
  8. Click OK.
