Both pages and messages can be copied and then pasted between test clips.

Copying a Page to Another Test Clip

  1. To copy a page from one test clip to another, first open both test clips in the Clip Editor.
  2. Next, click the tab of the first clip (the one that contains the page to copy) and then select the page. For example, in the test clip below the page named wikipedia is selected.

  1. Click the Copy button.

  1. Click the tab for the second test clip and then select a clip element to position the pasted page after it. If no clip element is selected, then the new page in the second clip will be added at the end of the clip.
  2. Click the Paste button.

If an item by the message’s name already exists in the clip, then the pasted item is assigned the first available number in the sequence (e.g. beginning with Page1).

Copying a Message to Another Test Clip

  1. To copy a message from one test clip to another, first open both test clips in the Clip Editor.
  2. Next, click the tab of the first clip (the one that contains the message to copy) and then select the message. For example, in the test clip below the page named Special:Preferences is selected.

Note: Switch to List view to get a better view of the message name, if necessary.

  1. Click the Copy button.

  1. Click the tab for the second test clip and then select a clip element to position the pasted message after it.

  1. Click the Paste button. The new message in the clip is added after the selection.

If an item by the message’s name already exists in the clip, then the pasted item is assigned the first available number in the sequence (e.g. beginning with Message1).

Note: If no clip element was selected, then the new message in the second clip will be added at the end of the clip.
