Redirect 101: Redirect HTTP to HTTPS

An easy way to ensure a fully enabled HTTPS website is to have stray HTTP requests that are coming in be handled by the Akamai EdgeServers.


With the If Protocol is HTTP criteria and the Redirect behavior, you can easily set up a HTTP to HTTPS redirect.

This way, you can offload your origin from these redirects as well as speed up the performance for end-users because it will be the Akamai EdgeServer handling this redirect.


If you want to go the extra mile, you can enable HSTS in your Akamai configuration but that is for another blog post!
